Education
AMU is strongly dedicated to creating high-standard educational opportunities. The University serves 51,500 students with 14 faculties offering BA, MA and PhD programmes. Students who know Polish can choose from over 170 majors.
The newest programmes include National Security, Biophysics with Nano-Bio-Med focus, Econophysics, Geoecology, Film Studies, and Internet Technology Applications (calm computing and Internet of things) as well as new language programmes such as Latvian Studies and South African Studies. AMU also offers 86 post-diploma studies. In general the language of instruction at AMU is Polish.
AMU special offer includes B.A. in Polish Philology for international students and over 40 programmes thought in other languages: AMU B.A. and M.A. programmes taught in English and/or German, INTERNATIONAL and EUROPEAN MASTER programmes taught by academic consortia including AMU, the Ph.D. programme FROM GENOME TP PHENOTYPE and the DIPLOMA programme in ESPERANTO.

Almost every AMU Faculty offers independent research options. In 2010, 2009 and 2008, Poland’s National Conference of Doctoral Students awarded AMU the title of the Best Institution of Higher Education in Poland. Students who have a master's degree from reputable universities, are considered for postgraduate research programmes.
