Faculties of Polish and Classical (Hellenistic and Latin) Philology are the oldest at traditional Polish universities as Polish culture is part of European culture and more particularly of Slavonic culture.

AMU Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology focuses on Polish, Czech, Serbian, Croatian, Bulgarian, and ancient Greek and Latin languages and cultures as well as on Mediterranean and Balkan studies including Albanian and Macedonian languages. Our expertise is much wider however and we also offer degree programmes in Film, Theatre, and Media studies, European Communication, and Central European Studies (with AMU Faculty of History). We also teach professional courses in teaching Polish as a foreign language.

Our School of Polish language and Culture for Foreign Students offers intensive pre-study courses whose successful completion opens all doors for international students interested in pursuing degree programmes taught in Polish.  Our Summer Schools are both effective and great fun.
