The applet illustrates the evolutionary naming-game model. The model exhibits bio-linguistic transition, where emergence of a linguistic coherence (large success rate) is accompanied by the jump in the learning ability. Clusters of agents using the same language can be considered as niches that favour large learning ability. This is an example of the Baldwin effect. To observe this effect let the system initially evolve at comm_prob=0.15 and then shift it (upper scrollbar) to e.g. 0.3. For more detailed description see our papers.
